The Yates County Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce the arrival of their newest member, K9 Edy, an 11-month-old German Shepherd. Edy joins the force after completing initial training at the Sheriff’s office and being partnered with Deputy Dan McGuigan.

Edy’s arrival fills the void left by K9 Kinni, who passed away earlier this year. Thanks to generous community donations, the Sheriff’s Office was able to secure funding for Edy’s purchase.

Deputy McGuigan and Edy will now embark on a 3-month basic K9 patrol course in Monroe County. Upon successful completion, the duo will undergo further training in narcotics detection and search techniques.
