Dr. Konstantin Frank Winery proudly presented its inaugural traditional method sparkling Rkatsiteli at the Saperica comparative tasting of Rkatisteli and Saperavi wines. Hosted by Erika Frey and Lasha Tsatava, the event marked a significant milestone for the winery and its loyal patrons.
This extraordinary release is not just about the wine; it’s also a celebration of community and artistry. At the Ukrainian Summer Kitchen Benefit last year, over 300 individuals came together to create a stunning mural led by Ukrainian artist Dianna Derhak. This artwork pays homage to the winery’s roots, as it was in Ukraine that Dr. Konstantin Frank first cultivated the Rkatsiteli grape before bringing it to the Finger Lakes.
The 2021 sparkling Rkatsiteli is the first of a trilogy of releases, each featuring a different section of the mural. Collectors are encouraged to acquire all three releases to fully appreciate the artwork’s evolution and the grape’s aging process over one, two, and three years on the lees.
Currently, this exceptional wine is exclusively available for purchase at the winery’s tasting room, offering enthusiasts a unique opportunity to experience the culmination of art, history, and winemaking expertise.
