Meet Keuka Springs winemaker Katie McNeal

Author: Share:

Our next Women’s History month staff highlight is our Assistant Winemaker, Katie McNeal!

From Keuka Springs Vineyards

Katie has been our assistant winemaker for about 6 months, and previously worked harvest with the KSV team in 2021. She was a brewer for 10 years before transitioning into wine. While brewing, Katie worked with Other Half and loved experimenting with mixed culture beers where she would capture native yeast samples for fermentation. This let her to start using more winemaking products and peaked her interest in winemaking. Through this work, Katie developed relationships with winemakers and decided to work a harvest to learn more and fell in love with the process.

When Katie is not in the cellar making wine, she’s usually found outdoors with her shepherd mix, Beans. Katie and Beans love hiking, paddle boarding, and kayaking together. Katie is teaching Beans to run alongside her while she mountain bikes as well!

We are delighted to have Katie on our winemaking team and can’t wait to see her ideas come to life!
