From Bully Hill Vineyards,

There are less than 10 known photographs of the 1925 total solar eclipse, and we are lucky to have two of them! Taken from Bully Hill at approximately 9:00 am on January 24, 1925, you can clearly see the southern end of Keuka Lake, partially frozen, and the snow covered vineyards.

The path of totality fell over the Great Lakes, Niagara Falls, the Finger Lakes, and New York City, then continued over the Atlantic Ocean.

The photographer is unknown. The photos were discovered in Walter Taylor’s (1858-1934) scrapbook.

These original silver gelatin prints are on display at the Greyton H. Taylor Wine Museum.

We also have enlarged prints on display in our tasting room vestibule.

Our Wine Shop and Tasting Room will be open Monday 4/8 from 10 am – 5 pm.
