From Steuben County,

Roughly nine years ago Steuben County began its all-out assault on substance abuse addiction with a series of community forums, backed by Addiction Awareness of Steuben County and co-founder Teresa Haight.

This man’s story then gave hope to many in Steuben County who suffered from substance abuse disorder and those that love them. They became survivors, one inch at a time, one day at a time.

Hope is a fragile commodity. It takes unbelievable courage to hope.

So maybe this story is yours, too. Or someone you love. Your neighbor, the kid down the block, your service provider. Afraid of the shame such courage may bring.
