Yates County Sheriff’s Department Arrests Bath Woman for DWI

A collision at Pre Emption Road and Havens Corners Road in Benton injured three, leading to ongoing investigations and charges.

Yates County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Francine L. Csontos, a 36-year-old resident of Bath, NY, for driving while intoxicated (DWI) early on April 15th, 2024. The arrest followed a traffic stop on State Route 54 in the Town of Barrington.

The complaint, numbered 2024-03306, stated that the incident occurred at 12:58 AM. Ms. Csontos was charged with DWI, with a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .08% or greater, as well as DWI under the Common Law. Additional charges included speeding over 55 mph and failure to keep right.

After being pulled over, Ms. Csontos underwent a series of standardized field sobriety tests, which she allegedly failed. Subsequently, she was taken into custody and transported to the Yates County Public Safety Building for a chemical test.

Following processing, Ms. Csontos was released on tickets and is expected to appear in the Town of Barrington Court at a later date to answer the charges.

The arrest was conducted by Deputy Fultz, Deputy Aini, and Sergeant Campbell, who were on the scene. The report was submitted on April 15th, 2024, at 3:10 AM, and there were no other agencies involved in the incident.

The Yates County Sheriff’s Department reminds the public to never drink and drive and to always designate a sober driver.
