WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Nick Langworthy (NY-23) announced that the Steuben Rural Electric Co-op Inc. will be receiving $2,349,547.19 in FEMA funding to repair distribution lines damaged by the remnants of Tropical Storm Fred in 2021.

“The Steuben Rural Electric Co-op plays a vital role in providing reliable electricity to our residents, and this federal funding will ensure that they can afford critical repairs to damaged lines,” said Congressman Langworthy. “Fortifying our power grid should be a major priority for communities across New York State — the infusion of $2.3 million is a step in the right direction for the Southern Tier’s continued access to electrical services.”

This grant is part of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Public Assistance Program to restore public infrastructure after emergencies.

Congressman Nick Langworthy represents the 23rd Congressional District of New York, including Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben Counties, and parts of Erie County. Visit langworthy.house.gov.
