Aggravated Family Offense, Obstruction of Breathing, Unlawful Imprisonment and Criminal Mischief Arrest

Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports that on May 27, 2024, deputies of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office arrested Garrett S. Ragusa, age 29, of Bryan Road, Thurston, New York following a report of a domestic incident. It is alleged that Mr. Ragusa choked and unlawfully restrained another person. It is further alleged that Mr. Ragusa damaged the property of that person and was previously convicted of a family offense in the past five years. Mr. Ragusa was charged with Aggravated Family Offense, a class E Felony, Unlawful Imprisonment in the First Degree, a class E Felony, Criminal Obstruction of Breathing and Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree. Mr. Ragusa was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Court and held without bail.
