Community policing at its best in Steuben County

From the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office,

In September, Lexy Wilson, a senior at Hammondsport Central School, asked School Resource Officer Joe Stremel if he would accompany her to the Hammondsport Junior/Senior Prom. On 06/01/2024, Deputy Bush had the pleasure of assisting SRO Stremel with fulfilling that request and escorting them to their Junior/Senior Prom. Deputy Bush shared that “SRO Stremel went out of his way to make sure everyone had a good night, he goes above and beyond for those kids.”

SRO Stremel has shared that Lexy is the Hammondsport Class of 2024 Salutatorian. She will be attending Alfred State University in the fall and will be studying to become a Veterinary Technician specializing in Large Animal Care and Agriculture.

We thank you SRO Stremel for all you do to build positive relationships with and support the students and staff at Hammondsport Central School. Lexy, we congratulate you on being the Salutatorian and wish you all the best in your next adventure!
