Yates County Sheriff’s Office ensures child safety with a Car Seat Check Event on July 20, offering inspections and adjustments.
Yates County Sheriff’s Office is gearing up for its annual Car Seat Check Event, scheduled for Saturday, July 20, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Dundee VFW on 125 Seneca Street. This initiative is part of the larger 4th annual Family Freedom Vendor/Craft Festival – Car Show, offering parents, guardians, and caregivers the opportunity to ensure the safety of their young passengers.
Organized in collaboration with the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee, the event will feature certified car seat technicians who will inspect, adjust, or replace current car seats as needed. This service is crucial for maintaining proper safety measures, as improperly installed or inappropriate car seats can pose serious risks to children in the event of an accident.
“Safety is our priority, especially when it comes to protecting our youngest community members,” remarked Sgt. Chad M. Daggett, reporting officer for the event. “We encourage all parents and caregivers to take advantage of this opportunity to have their child’s car seat checked by professionals.”
No appointments are necessary to participate in the Car Seat Check Event, making it convenient for families to drop in during the festival. The initiative aims to educate and empower caregivers with the knowledge and tools needed to keep children safe on the road.
