Yates County to Participate in Statewide STOP-DWI
Impaired Driving High Visibility Engagement Campaign runs July 4 holiday period July 3-7th, 2024
Sheriff Frank Ryan announced today that Yates County police agencies will participate in special efforts to bring awareness to the dangers of impaired driving this 4th of July holiday as it is a busy travel time of the year. Local and State Police, will collaborate and enhance enforcement across the state. Patrols will be out in force in this coordinated effort to reduce the number of impaired driving-related injuries and deaths.
“The fourth of July holiday is special to our country, celebrating our Declaration of Independence, and the values that this country was founded on. We hope that everyone can gather, celebrate, and enjoy fireworks display to commemorate the sacrifices of our forefathers. It is our hope that we all make good decisions when it comes to operating motor vehicles and avoid impaired driving. If you see or suspect someone that may be driving while impaired, please call 911. Our goal is to keep our roadways safe for all.”
