CORNING, N.Y. — Corning gears up to host the nationwide Gus Macker Basketball Tournament, prompting temporary closures of key parking lots and a road.
This weekend, on Saturday, July 20, and Sunday, July 21, the vibrant city of Corning will be bustling with participants and spectators for the annual Gus Macker Basketball Tournament. This popular event invites basketball enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels to compete in a spirited 3-on-3 tournament held on the north side of the city.
To accommodate the influx of players and attendees, the Corning Gaffer District has announced necessary closures.
- The Corning Credit Union Main Office parking lot will be inaccessible from 5 p.m. on Friday, July 19, through 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, although drive-through ATM services will remain operational.
- Ferris Street, spanning from East Pulteney Street to East William Street, will be closed on Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Municipal Lot 34, adjacent to Carey’s Brew House, will see closures from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both tournament days.
