A construction site mishap led to a contractor being airlifted after his truck fell into Seneca Lake.
In a dramatic incident at a construction site on Staudt Road, a contractor’s pickup truck took a perilous 40-foot plunge into Seneca Lake on Thursday morning. The truck, while being maneuvered by the contractor, unexpectedly rolled toward the lake, prompting the driver to make a desperate attempt to halt its course by jumping in. Despite these efforts, the vehicle careened off the path, striking several trees before coming to rest partially submerged in the lake.
Emergency responders were swiftly on the scene, where they executed a prompt rescue operation. The contractor was extracted from the vehicle alert and conscious, a testament to the quick action of the rescue teams.
