The Wall That Heals will arrive in Penn Yan today, accompanied by a motorcycle escort and a special street renaming ceremony.
The Wall That Heals, a traveling replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, is set to arrive in Penn Yan today. The event will be marked by a ceremonial motorcycle escort consisting of approximately 350 bikes. The escort will assemble in the Bass Pro parking lot at the Finger Lakes Mall in Auburn at 1 p.m. and will depart for Penn Yan at 2 p.m.
The route will take the escort down Routes 5 & 20, passing through Seneca Falls, Waterloo, and Geneva before heading onto County Road 5 towards Hall and then continuing onto Route 14A to Penn Yan. The expected arrival time in Penn Yan is around 3:30 p.m. The escort will then proceed down Liberty Street, turn onto Lake Street, and finally onto Mace Street.
In conjunction with the Wall’s arrival, there will be a special ceremony to rename Mace Street as “Vietnam Veteran’s Drive” to honor the occasion. For more information about The Wall That Heals, visit their official website here.
