The annual Smoke on the Water event will return to the Hammondsport Fire Department on Saturday, August 24, promising a day of barbecue, music, and family fun.
Get ready to support the Hammondsport Fire Department as they host the 13th annual Smoke on the Water event on Saturday, August 24. From noon to 8 p.m., attendees can enjoy a variety of activities including live music, local vendor shopping, barbecue tastings, and a mini-golf course. Kids will have their own play zone to explore and enjoy.
Event highlights include:
- Trivia Night: Kicking off the festivities with a fun trivia challenge on August 23 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Cornhole Tournament: Starting at 1 p.m. on August 24, adding a competitive edge to the day’s events.
The main attraction is the barbecue competition, featuring more than a dozen competitors preparing four different types of meat:
- Chicken at 1 p.m.
- Pork at 2 p.m.
- Mystery category at 3 p.m.
- Brisket at 4 p.m.
A $20 wristband grants unlimited barbecue tastings, allowing guests to sample as many dishes as they desire while supplies last. Attendees are advised to leave their coolers at home, as a range of adult and family-friendly beverages will be available for purchase. For those who prefer alternatives to barbecue, other food options will also be available.
