The United Way of the Southern Tier, led by President Steve Hughes, is spearheading efforts to assist victims of Hurricane Debby who have suffered significant property damage in Steuben County.
In response to the devastating impact of Hurricane Debby, Steve Hughes, President of the United Way of the Southern Tier, is leading initiatives to support affected communities in Steuben County. Hughes emphasized the focus on providing aid to areas hit hardest by the storm. “Our primary efforts are concentrated on responding to the severe damage in the western part of the corridor,” Hughes informed WVIN News.
The United Way’s relief efforts are directed towards several key areas, including:
- Woodhull
- Jasper
- Troupsburg
- Addison
- Canisteo
- Bath and surrounding regions
Hughes underscored the importance of reporting property damage by calling the 2-1-1 helpline, a crucial step for initiating support and assistance. In addition to financial donations, the United Way is collecting clothing and hygiene items to help those in need. Contributions can be sent to:
