Penn Yan, NY – The Yates County Chamber of Commerce is calling on local residents, businesses, and organizations to flex their creative muscles for its annual Scarecrow Decorating Contest.
The popular contest, which is open to all ages, encourages participants to display their uniquely decorated scarecrows along Main Street or Elm Street in Penn Yan, or at their own business or home. Scarecrows must be in place by October 7th and will remain on display through November 4th.
To enter, simply register online and submit a photo of your scarecrow. Chamber staff will then collect photos of all entries and post them to the Chamber’s Facebook page for public voting from October 21st through the 30th.
Winners will be announced on Halloween, with cash prizes awarded for first, second, and third place.
