The Yates County Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce the successful completion of the annual K9’s Behind the Wall event by Correction Officer James Palmer and his K9 partner Magnum. The event, hosted by the New York State Department of Correction and Community Supervision, took place on October 1st and 2nd.
The K9’s Behind the Wall event provided Officer Palmer and Magnum with valuable training and education on topics such as legal issues and trends in K9 applications within correctional facilities. Practical exercises, including drug searches, further enhanced their skills.
To maintain their high level of proficiency, Officer Palmer and Magnum will continue their training this month by participating in the Yates County Sheriff’s Office annual K9 Seminar. This seminar will help them achieve certification and ensure their readiness for any challenges they may face.
The Yates County Sheriff’s Office extends its congratulations to Officer Palmer and K9 Magnum on their outstanding achievements and dedication to their service.
