Jones Memorial Hospital set to host 32nd annual this Sunday October 20
From longtime Ridgewalk volunteer Patricia Childs,
Thursday October 17. Dawn dried with beautiful sunshine to greet students from Andover, Scio, Whitesville, and Wellsville schools in the Woods atop Alma hill for a 2 mile walk. Each year the Jones Memorial Ridgewalk committee provides this educational opportunity on a section of its 6 mile hike, one event of this Sunday’s RidgeWalk.

The trail passes through unique rock formations, oil wells, an oil pumphouse they can enter, and a firetower. There are 10 instructional stations as well as many identification signs for geological formations, oil production ,trees and vegetation. It was a great day for all.
The weather looks nothing short of perfect for this amazing day outdoors enjoying the Allegany county “wilds.” Over a thousand people will participate in both competitive cross country races and leisurely walks over Alma hill in the peak fall foliage. For more information, visit Ridgewalk.com
