A Rochester man was arrested after leading Yates County Sheriff’s Deputies on a high-speed chase on Saturday night. The chase reached speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour.
A Rochester man was arrested on Saturday night after leading Yates County Sheriff’s Deputies on a high-speed chase.
According to authorities, deputies were conducting a traffic stop on Voak Road in Potter when Donald Symer, 71, allegedly passed the deputy at a high rate of speed and crossed the center line multiple times. Deputies pursued Symer, who reached speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour.
The chase ended on South Street in the town of Gorham, where Symer was taken into custody. He was charged with driving while intoxicated, unlawfully fleeing a police officer, reckless driving, and several traffic violations. Symer was released on an appearance ticket to answer the charges in Potter Town Court.
