Harvest 2024 is complete, and what an exciting one it has been! For the first time, we anticipate producing over 1,000 cases of red wines, and they’re already showing exceptional quality and flavor. This year, we harvested more Vignoles, Léon Millot, and Cabernet Franc than ever before, all of outstanding quality.
As we move into late fall and winter, winemaking is all about preserving delicate aromas, freshness, and character that reflect the vintage and terroir. This involves vigilant care, such as ensuring barrels remain topped up to prevent oxidation and sealing white wines in stainless steel tanks, where they can mature gracefully over the colder months.
Meanwhile, work continues in the vineyard. Our team is hilling up the vines to protect the graft and scion—the varietals above the graft, such as Riesling or Cabernet Franc. We’re also repairing trellis posts, tightening wires, and nourishing the soil with compost. Once the vines enter full dormancy for the winter, we’ll begin “balance pruning” our Léon Millot, Seyval, and Vignoles to prepare them for the next growing season.
Our goal is to make the highest possible quality wine, while respecting the land and maintaining sustainability. The support we receive from our Wine Club members and customers ensures that we get to keep producing your favorites for years to come
