The fleet is ready to roll and keep county roads as safe as possible

The Steuben County Department of Public Works (DPW) is pleased to announce that winter snow and ice maintenance operations have officially begun on Steuben County roads. With winter weather upon us, the County is fully prepared to keep roadways safe and passable for all drivers. The Steuben County DPW operates a fleet of 50 snow plows , each equipped with the necessary tools to clear snow and apply salt and sand to roads throughout the winter months. The department’s dedicated staff will be working diligently to ensure the roads are as free from snow and ice as possible, promoting safe travel for the public.
“We are committed to keeping our roads safe for all residents and travelers during the winter season,” said Eric Rose, Steuben County DPW Commissioner. “Our crews this winter will be out in full force to ensure that snow and ice are cleared quickly and efficiently, but we ask that drivers remain patient and aware while traveling.”
The Department of Public Works reminds all motorists to exercise caution and give snowplows plenty of space while they are working.
