The spirit of the holiday season arrives early in Bath this year with the arrival of the Wreaths Across America (WAA) Truck on Monday, December 2nd. This nationwide program honors our fallen veterans by placing wreaths on the headstones at Arlington National Cemetery and over 2,500 additional locations across the country, including Bath National Cemetery.
The WAA truck will be met with a hero’s welcome at exit 39 on at approximately 10:30 am. Local law enforcement agencies, fire departments, and Patriot Guard members will join in a ceremonial escort as the truck makes its way through Bath. The procession will travel down East Morris Street to the four-way intersection, then turn left onto West Washington Street, ultimately arriving at the back entrance of the VA facilities.
Community members are encouraged to line the streets and show their appreciation for the sacrifices made by our nation’s heroes. The thousands of wreaths delivered by the WAA truck will be placed on the grave sites at Bath National Cemetery during a special ceremony on December 14th.
Sponsorship opportunities for wreaths are still available until Thanksgiving. To sponsor a wreath and ensure a veteran’s grave site receives a special tribute this holiday season, visit WreathsAcrossAmerica.org/NYBNCB.
