A 63-year-old Bath resident, Earvin Brown, was arrested following a joint investigation by the New York State Parole Office and the Bath Police Department. Authorities allege Brown was in possession of weapons prohibited by his parole terms.
The investigation unfolded on the afternoon of December 3, when state parole officers alerted local police about the discovery of two weapons in Brown’s possession. Brown is currently on parole for a second-degree murder conviction, making him legally barred from owning or possessing any weapons.
As a result, Brown was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a class D felony under New York State law.
Following his arrest and processing, Brown was remanded to the Steuben County Jail, where he is being held on a $5,000 cash bond.
