Two individuals, including a juvenile, have been apprehended in connection with a burglary at a Penn Yan business that resulted in the theft of $1,600 in cash. The incident is reported to have occurred between December 19 and 20.
Michael Hand Jr., 23, and a minor whose identity has not been disclosed, are alleged to have broken into the business, which has not been publicly named, and stolen the money. Both suspects face charges of burglary and grand larceny.
Following the investigation, Hand was taken into custody and is scheduled to appear in Penn Yan Village Court at a later date. The minor has been released into the care of a legal guardian, with their case set to be addressed in Yates County Family Court.
