James, beloved husband of HM Bateman, son of Elaine Horn, brother to Peter Horn, Andrea Wilson, Mark Horn, Leslie Raney.
Jim was a multi-talented person who rehabbed homes. He was also an artist who designed jewelry and who made beautiful stained glass windows. Besides his “handywork,” Jim was a naturalist, a talented birder, and an environmental activist who’s impact was generational.
He was an ardent atheist who was kind to all. Jim stood up for the little guy who he never met and did so using intellect and ethics. In his quiet ways, Jim’s projects and community endeavors will stand to benefit others for many years to come.
Jim touched many lives and was admired and loved by all who knew him. He will be sorely missed.
Services will be private and memorials may be directed to the GrassRoots Gardens of WNY, 389 Broadway Street, Buffalo, NY 14204 in Jim’s name.
