Yates County District Attorney Todd Casella has officially announced his candidacy for a third term in the upcoming November elections. Casella, who began his tenure in 2018, has been instrumental in navigating the county through significant criminal justice reforms and has championed the adoption of advanced digital evidence management systems.
Prior to his election as District Attorney, Casella served as an Assistant District Attorney in Steuben County, bringing a wealth of experience to his current role.

In recognition of his prosecutorial excellence, Casella was honored as “Prosecutor of the Year” by the New York Prosecutor’s Training Institute in June 2021. This accolade was awarded for his successful prosecution of Kelly Anderson for the 2002 murder of Ethan Eslick.
Casella has also played a pivotal role in a multi-county corruption case that led to significant forfeitures and convictions, underscoring his dedication to upholding justice and public trust.
