Steuben County Veterans Service Agency Launches Seasonal Newsletter to Keep Veterans Informed

In a significant move to enhance communication and support for its veteran community, the Steuben County Veterans Service Agency (VSA) has unveiled a new seasonal newsletter tailored specifically for local veterans. This initiative underscores the county’s dedication to ensuring that veterans are well-informed about the myriad benefits, resources, and opportunities available to them.

The inaugural Spring 2025 edition of the newsletter offers a wealth of information pertinent to veterans and their families. It includes crucial reminders about veterans’ benefits and services, updates on property tax exemptions, and highlights upcoming community events and gatherings. Additionally, the newsletter provides details on job opportunities, workforce resources, and recent legislative developments affecting veterans. A special message from VSA Director Gary G. Smith emphasizes the agency’s commitment to serving those who have served.

Director Smith articulated the agency’s mission, stating, “Our veterans have given so much in service to our country, and we want to ensure they have every tool and resource available to them. This newsletter is another way we are working to keep our veterans informed, connected, and supported.”

The VSA has been proactive in its outreach efforts, participating in numerous events throughout the county to engage directly with veterans. These initiatives aim to bridge the gap between veterans and the services they are entitled to, especially those residing in more rural areas of Steuben County.

Veterans and their families are encouraged to access the newsletter, which is available on the Steuben County website in the Veterans Services section. For personalized assistance or more information about the services offered, individuals can contact the Steuben County Veterans Service Agency at their Bath office:
