Bath Compost Site Reopens April 5: Residents Invited to Participate in Seasonal Yard Waste Program

BATH, NY — The Village and Town of Bath have announced the seasonal reopening of their compost site, beginning Saturday, April 5th, 2025. The facility will once again offer a place for local residents to dispose of yard waste, including brush, leaves, grass clippings, and other garden materials.

Hours of Operation Vary by Season

  • April 5 – April 26: Open Saturdays only from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • May 3 – May 31: Open Saturdays 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and Tuesday & Thursday evenings from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • June 7 – November 8: Returns to Saturday-only hours, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Accepted Materials and Fees

The site will accept:

  • Brush (up to 6 inches in diameter): $5.00 per pickup load
  • Leaves: $2.00 per pickup load
  • Grass Clippings: $2.00 per pickup load
  • Garden Materials: $2.00 per pickup load

Fees are based on the size of a pickup truck load, and prorated fees may apply to larger or smaller loads.

Important Guidelines

Residents are reminded that containers, plastic bags, buckets, and boxes are not permitted to be left at the site. Additionally, construction and demolition materials are strictly prohibited.

Ticket Information

Tickets are required for each load and must be purchased in advance. Tickets are available at:

  • Village Clerk’s Office in the Municipal Building on Liberty Street (Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.)
  • Bath Plumbing & Hardware, also located on Liberty Street

No tickets will be sold at the compost site.
