The Village of Penn Yan is poised to commence a significant transformation of Lake Street Park, a central green space in the heart of the village. This initiative is a key component of the village’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI), aimed at enhancing community spaces and stimulating local economic growth.
A groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for Monday, April 21, at 1 p.m. at Lake Street Park. Village officials, project engineers, and community members will gather to mark the beginning of this revitalization effort. The event will include remarks from local leaders and an opportunity for attendees to view detailed plans of the proposed enhancements.
The revitalization project encompasses several key upgrades:
- New Playground: A modern, safe, and engaging play area designed for children of all ages.
- Waterfront Dock and Landing Area: Improved access to the water, promoting recreational activities and scenic enjoyment.
- ADA-Accessible Walking Path: A fully accessible pathway ensuring inclusivity for all visitors.
