A Geneva teen was arrested after a shooting left one man hospitalized in guarded condition.
A 19-year-old Geneva resident has been arrested in connection with a shooting that left another man hospitalized in guarded condition earlier this week.
Jonathan T. Bey was taken into custody following the execution of a search warrant at a residence on Exchange Street, according to Geneva Police. He faces charges of second-degree assault and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
The incident occurred on Tuesday when officers responded to Geneva General Hospital after a man arrived with a gunshot wound to the upper body. Investigators determined that the shooting took place inside a home on Exchange Street. The victim was subsequently transported by Finger Lakes Ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester for surgery.

Authorities have identified a second suspect and are continuing their investigation. Police believe the incident was isolated and that there is no ongoing threat to the public.
This marks the second shooting on Exchange Street within a three-day span. On Saturday night, police responded to reports of gunfire in the same area. No injuries were reported in that incident, but the investigation remains active.
The recent uptick in gun-related incidents has raised concerns among local residents and officials. In a statement, Geneva Police urged anyone with information about either shooting to come forward and assist with the investigations.
