Over forty foster homes in Steuben County are thanked for generosity and care for needy children
From Steuben County, NY
On Thursday evening, May 15th, 2025, the Bath Volunteer Fire Hall was filled with heartfelt emotion and sincere appreciation as the Steuben County Department of Social Services hosted its annual Foster Parent Appreciation Banquet. This special event celebrated the extraordinary individuals and families who open their hearts and homes to children in need throughout Steuben County.
The evening began with opening remarks by Kathryn Muller, Commissioner of the Steuben County Department of Social Services. Her words set the tone for a touching and meaningful gathering, centered around gratitude, community, and the unwavering spirit of foster parents.
Following the welcome, certificates of appreciation were presented by members of the Steuben County Legislature and staff from the Department of Social Services. Each foster family was recognized for their dedication, compassion, and the lasting impact they have made in the lives of the children they care for.
A moving slideshow presentation followed, honoring the journeys, memories, and love shared within these remarkable homes. The room was filled with warmth as attendees reflected on the strength and support foster families provide across the county.

The event concluded with closing remarks from Commissioner Muller, marking the end of a beautiful evening dedicated to the heroes who make a difference every day—our foster parents.
This annual dinner serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of community, kindness, and the life-changing role foster parents play in building a brighter future for children and families across Steuben County.
