Steuben County Manager Jack Wheeler confirmed that boating remains permitted on Lamoka, Waneta, and Keuka Lakes. However, he urged boaters to operate at reduced speeds for safety. Wheeler, along with County Public Information Officer Eddie VanStine, also stressed the importance of slowing down when driving near public works and highway crews, emphasizing that driver caution is critical to keeping workers safe.
