Penn Yan woman is facing multiple charges following her arrest in connection to a January incident involving a residential burglary and stolen vehicle.
Jade Smith voluntarily turned herself in at the Yates County Sheriff’s Office, where she was taken into custody by officers from the Penn Yan Police Department. Authorities had issued a warrant for her arrest following an investigation into a break-in earlier this year.
According to police, Smith is accused of unlawfully entering another person’s apartment, taking their car keys, and leaving the scene in the stolen vehicle. She has been charged with third-degree burglary and third-degree unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
After being processed by Penn Yan Police, Smith was transported to the Yates County Jail. She is awaiting arraignment in Yates County Criminal Court.
