A Bath resident was taken into custody last week following an animal cruelty investigation that led authorities to seize three dogs from his care.
Zachariah E. Cole, 33, was arrested on Wednesday, July 9, after the Bath Police Department executed an active warrant charging him with failure to provide proper sustenance—a violation of New York State Agriculture and Markets Law.
According to police, the investigation determined that Cole had neglected to supply adequate food, water, and shelter for the animals. A search and seizure warrant, issued by Bath Village Court, allowed law enforcement to remove the dogs from the property prior to Cole’s arrest.
The dogs have since been placed in a safe environment and are reported to be in good health.
Following his arrest, Cole was processed in Bath Village Court and released pending further legal proceedings.
