After years of planning and community effort, Dundee Fresh Grocery has announced it will officially open its doors on Friday, July 26 at 8 a.m. The nonprofit grocery store, located at 19 Union Street, sits across from the Dundee Village Hall and Fire Department.
The store’s interior has undergone a complete transformation, with new shelving, refrigeration units, kitchen equipment, and a café-style seating area now in place. Final touches, including staff onboarding and permit approvals, are currently underway as the team prepares for opening day.
Backed by the Greater Rochester Health Foundation and a network of corporate and local business supporters, the store was created in response to the loss of Martini’s Supermarket, which closed in 2019, leaving the village without a full-service grocery option.
Dundee Fresh Grocery will offer a selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, everyday pantry items, and a welcoming café space for neighbors to enjoy coffee or a light bite. Organizers hope the store will not only improve access to nutritious food, but also serve as a community hub for residents of Dundee and surrounding areas.
