Residents in Steuben County have a chance to make a meaningful impact—and earn a free movie night—by donating blood this week at a special summer event.
CareFirstNY is partnering with the American Red Cross to host the “Lights, Camera, Donate! Summer Blood Drive” on Tuesday, July 22. The event will run from 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the CareFirstNY headquarters, located at 3805 Meads Creek Road in Painted Post.
In a continued effort to boost blood donations during the busy summer season, the Red Cross is offering a special thank-you gift: all presenting donors will receive a Fandango movie reward, good for one free ticket (up to $15). The offer is available to anyone who donates at this drive or any Red Cross blood drive through July 31.
Appointments are strongly encouraged. Eligible donors can schedule a time by calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767), visiting RedCrossBlood.org, or using the Red Cross Blood Donor App.
With blood supplies often running low during the summer months, organizers hope this incentive will help bring in new and returning donors.
