PENN YAN, N.Y. – The Yates County Sheriff’s Office has once again achieved reaccreditation through the New York State Sheriff’s Association, a recognition that underscores the department’s commitment to high professional standards in law enforcement.
The honor was presented during a recent meeting of the Yates County Legislature. Executive Director Peter Kehoe of the Sheriff’s Association awarded the official reaccreditation plaque to Sheriff Frank Ryan and Undersheriff Brandon Jensen, while also presenting individual certificates to members of the agency.
Those recognized included Civil Clerk Jean Hubbel-Lenton, Lieutenant Kevin Campbell, and Sergeant Chad Daggett. Deputy Chad Betts was also acknowledged but could not attend due to training obligations.
Sheriff Ryan praised his staff for their dedication, noting that reaccreditation requires ongoing effort to meet rigorous state guidelines and best practices. The achievement, he said, reflects the professionalism of the entire department.
The Sheriff’s Office also expressed gratitude for the continued backing of the Yates County Legislature, Chairperson Leslie Church, and County Administrator Jessica Mullins, all of whom have supported the department in maintaining its high standards of service to the community.
