Dundee Woman Arrested After Stolen Dog Recovered in Traffic Stop

Staff Report / December 5, 2025

DUNDEE, N.Y. – A 32-year-old Dundee woman is facing multiple felony charges after authorities say she was found in possession of a stolen dog following a traffic stop Wednesday night. According to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office and Penn Yan Police Department, Colleen C. Fiorilla has been charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, second-degree burglary, and fourth-degree grand larceny. Investigators allege the incident began earlier in the evening when police received a report that a dog had been stolen from a residence in the Village of Penn Yan.

Officials say Fiorilla is accused of unlawfully entering a home and taking the dog before leaving in a vehicle. Police later attempted to contact her at her residence, but she reportedly refused to cooperate. Shortly afterward, deputies observed her attempting to leave the property and initiated a traffic stop around 8:40 p.m. on Dundee-Himrod Road, where the dog was recovered. Fiorilla was taken into custody at the scene and transferred to Penn Yan Police before being lodged in the Yates County Jail pending further court proceedings.
