Bath Village Police Department / January 27, 2026
Over the past several days, the Village of Bath Police Department has arrested a male for various crimes who identified himself as “Jason Pierce,” age 21, of an unspecified state, as prior press releases will indicate.
On 01/25/2026, members of the Village of Bath Police Department initiated a further investigation in an attempt to verify the male’s identity. It was subsequently determined that his true identity is Amari Jameel Lee, age 26, of Maryland. Lee has been incarcerated in Steuben County Jail since 01/24/2026 on prior charges.
Investigation revealed that Lee was wanted on a full extradition warrant of arrest for armed robbery with a firearm out of the State of Maryland. Lee had provided a false identity in order to avoid apprehension on the outstanding warrant. It was further determined that Lee has been on the run since November 2025, avoiding apprehension across multiple states by providing false identities.
Lee is believed to have been passing through the Village of Bath in his attempt to reach the Canadian Border.
Lee remains incarcerated in the Steuben County Jail, facing local charges as detailed in prior press releases, and awaiting extradition to the State of Maryland.
