Scenes and winter songbirds from Steuben County
From Janie Ferguson on the Canisteo River,
It is currently 8*, and cloudy at 9:00 am here in Cameron Mills, NY this 13th day of February. Thankfully we are in the double digits this week, and not in the negative numbers anymore. They are calling for a high of 40’s beginning on Sunday.
I begin today with a white-breasted nuthatch with a sunflower seed in its beak, and a cabin in the woods on a snowy day.

Then a delightful male cardinal, and a back road commute.

Next a couple of puffed up goldfinches, enduring the cold, with evergreens just around the bend.

I’m ending today with a striking red-bellied woodpecker. I hope you enjoy them, too.

Enjoy your weekend,
