Bath Police Department / February 26, 2026
On 2/16/2026, at approximately 8:11PM, an officer with the Village of Bath Police Department conducted a traffic stop on West Washington St after having observed a violation of the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law.
Upon investigation, officers located a quantity of suspected methamphetamine concealed underneath the operator of the vehicle, who was identified as Melissa A. Olin, age 46, of Avoca. Further search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of an additional quantity of methamphetamine in the possession of the passenger, who was identified as James L. Turner, age 45, of Bath.
Olin was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree. Turner was charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.
Olin and Turner were processed and released on appearance tickets. They are due in Bath Village Court at a later date.
