Parolee Arrested After Early-Morning Stabbing in Town of Geneva; Victim in Stable Condition at Strong Memorial

Staff Report / March 1, 2026

Deputies from the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office arrested a local man early Saturday after responding to a stabbing at an apartment complex in the Town of Geneva, law enforcement said.

Police were dispatched shortly after 7:09 a.m. to 120 Genesis Way following a 911 call reporting an individual had been stabbed multiple times.

Upon arrival, deputies learned that the suspect had already fled the scene on foot. Authorities said the victim — whose identity has not been released — suffered multiple stab wounds and was transported by Finger Lakes Ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, where they are currently listed in stable condition.

Suspect Located and Taken Into Custody

Around 8:30 a.m., Geneva police officers observed the suspect, 57-year-old Corwin L. Coleman of Geneva, walking into a building in the community. Deputies took him into custody shortly afterward, at about 8:37 a.m., according to officials.

Coleman, who is currently on New York State parole for a prior robbery conviction, was charged with assault in the first degree and transported to the Ontario County Jail. He is awaiting arraignment in CAP court.
