Diana was gifted in many ways. Beginning in high school, she demonstrated an amazing talent as an artist through her paintings and drawings. She was highly creative in her sewing and clothing design, a skill she maintained throughout her life. She enjoyed quilting and created beautiful glass jewelry, flower arrangements, and metalwork designs. She loved sharing anything she made or designed with family and friends and was also a gifted photographer. Diana had a large vinyl record collection and spent many hours listening to music across many genres.

In her younger years, Diana was active in her church and was part of a youth group before moving to Rochester with her husband, Richard. She later embraced the life of a deacon’s wife and then a pastor’s wife, as well as a devoted mother to her children. She loved church life and the people of her husband’s congregation. The friendships and memories shared with her Christian Assembly family were always treasured by Diana. She enjoyed many family picnics, camping trips, beach outings, visits to Letchworth, and vacations to Canada.

Diana was an amazing gardener and took great pride in the harvests from her large garden. She enjoyed canning vegetables, freezing berries, and preparing food for future use. She was an excellent cook who relied on old family recipes to create comforting New England–style meals enjoyed by all who gathered at her table. There was very little she could not do.

Per Diana’s wishes, there will be no services. A gathering of family and friends will be held this summer at her beloved home in Angelica, NY. At that time, Diana’s ashes and those of her husband, Robert, will be scattered together over their property. Arrangements are under the direction of Baker-Swan Funeral Home in Wellsville/Scio. Online condolences may be offered at www.baker-swan.com.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Diana’s name to the SPCA Serving Allegany County, PO Box 181, Belmont, NY 14813. Diana loved animals, especially her cats. © 2024 Baker-Swan Funeral Home.
