Andover-Whitesville coach Jimmy Joyce said, “This was the game we had circled  for a while. We knew that if we really were the team we know we can be then we would have to play well vs J-T. They handled us twice last year and we needed a much better effort. The guys really responded to the challenge. I could not be happier with this group. Lou and Brian do such a phenomenal job over there. I have the utmost respect for them.  J-T is a very good team. I suspect we may see them again.”

Brody Vance, Colton Calladine and Vincent Joyce all had big games.

“Brody really kept his hot hand going with another 40 point effort including 6 3’s,  but he also responded defensively,” Coach Joyce said. “Vinny really is our motor and without him we cant do what we need to do.  His 21 points and 17 rebounds are key to our success today.   At this point, that’s the stat line I expect from him every single night.   Colt also stood out with 17 points, 6 assists and a great defensive effort.   This was the start of an extremely challenging stretch of games for us so we needed a complete effort badly and I think that’s exactly what we got.”

Andover-Whitesville 96, Friendship-Scio 40

Friendship-Scio: Aiden Golden had 16 points, Jeremiah Brown: 9 points

Coach Joyce said, “We were firing on all cylinders tonight. I didn’t anticipate that coming off of a 9-day layoff between games. Brody was dominate and definitely feeling it tonight. Vinny, Colt and James had really good games also. Another game with contributions from everyone.  We ironed some things outWe have a ways to go but I’m very happy with the boys.”
