GALEN – Wayne County law enforcement officials are investigating a violent domestic incident after a man and a woman were found dead inside a local residence on Wednesday morning.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reported that dispatchers at the county 911 center received a call around 11:46 a.m. detailing a report of two individuals suffering from apparent gunshot wounds at a home in the Town of Galen. Sheriff’s deputies arriving on the scene confirmed the report and located both victims deceased inside the property.
Detectives conducting the preliminary investigation noted that the scene points to an apparent murder-suicide. Authorities swiftly reassured the public that the incident appears isolated and there is no ongoing threat to the surrounding community.
