BATH — The Steuben County Department of Public Works has announced that a bridge on Sonora Road in the Town of Bath will close to through traffic beginning Tuesday, September 8, for a comprehensive reconstruction project expected to last roughly nine weeks.

The temporary closure impacts the Sonora Road span crossing Mud Creek, located between Robie Road and Kettle Road. According to county officials, the project involves replacing the existing structure with new concrete abutments and concrete deck beams to ensure long-term structural integrity. Public Works Commissioner Eric Rose noted that the full closure is necessary to safely complete the infrastructure work, emphasizing that motorist safety remains the department’s top priority during construction.
