A Wayne County resident is in custody facing felony charges after fleeing a crash site early Sunday morning in Yates County.
Early Sunday morning, 35-year-old Ben Keenan of Williamson is accused of fleeing the scene of a single-vehicle accident in Yates County. Authorities say Keenan failed to yield at a stop sign on State Route 14 in the town of Torrey, leading to a collision with an embankment. When deputies arrived, Keenan had already left the scene but was apprehended shortly after.
During the investigation, Keenan declined to undergo standardized field sobriety tests and refused a chemical test. He has been charged with felony DWI and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle. Keenan is currently held at the Yates County Jail, awaiting arraignment.
