A high-speed chase through Yates County concluded with the arrest of a Bluff Point woman early Friday morning.
Yates County Sheriff’s Deputies have taken 26-year-old Jade S. Smith into custody following a dramatic high-speed pursuit that unfolded in the town of Benton. The chase began on State Route 14A when deputies spotted Smith driving well above the speed limit, leading to a pursuit that exceeded double the legal speed.
The high-speed chase, which stretched into Ferguson Corners Road, ended with Smith’s arrest. She now faces several charges, including unlawful fleeing, reckless driving, and multiple traffic violations. After being processed at the Yates County Public Safety Building, Smith was released on appearance tickets.
The incident saw the involvement of multiple deputies, including Sgt. Chisom, Dep. Schenck, Dep. Garren, and Dep. Lane. Smith is scheduled to appear in court at a future date to face the charges.
