The Hornell girls team won the team trophy last night at the 59th running of the Castiglione-Tobin Hornell Invitational sweeping the competition with a score of 107 points. Ella White was first in the 100 (12.51), 200 (26.14), second in the 100 hurdles (17.03), and was lead runner for the winning 4×100 relay team (51.5). Ella also represented the girls running events winning the athlete of the meet award.
Other girls scoring for the team were Selena Maldonado in the 100 (12.92), 200 (26.66), and was the anchor for the 4×100. SIlvia Carretto scored in the 800 (2:30.48), 400 (1:03.93), and was on the second place 4×400 (4:16.74) team along with Madison Rudenauer, Maura Kaurk, and Dealiney Thompson. Dealiney also scored in the 400 (1:05.27), and high jump (4’9″). Mayleigh Martin was second in the long lump with a jump of 15’07”. Madison Rudenauer rounded out the scoring with her second place 400 hurdles with a seasons personal best time of 1:1149).
On the boys side Kellen Crowe led the scoring with a first place finish in the 100 (11.53), and the 200 (23.12) and was part of the 4×100 relay team that took second place (46:00). The 4×100 relay consisted also of Landon Boyle, Cole Hopper and Demayne Dixon. Dixon scored in the high jump (5’08”). Landon Boyle scored in the 400 (55.29), and Cole Hopper was 6th in the 200 (24.82). The throwers relay of Hayden France, Treyvon Callicut, Jordan Carey, and Nathan Knight took third with a time of 55:09.
